Winners of the 5th Barcelona és Moda prize
Last night at a gala held at the Roca Barcelona Gallery in Barcelona, the Chamber of Commerce presented the 5th Barcelona és Moda prize. The event brought together a broad cross-section of the fashion and design worlds as well as familiar faces from Barcelona’s high society. Also in attendance were the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Miquel Valls; the Second Deputy Mayor of Barcelona, Sonia Recasens; and other representatives of Catalan public institutions.
During the gala event, which was hosted by model and presenter Judith Mascó accompanied by actor Quim Gutierrez, awards were presented in 4 categories. The Barcelona és Moda prize for the business with the best international presence and expansion went to Desigual; the prize for the most creative company went to yporqué; the prize for industry professionals went to Isabel Sauras, president of Castañer; and the prize for entrepreneurial initiative went to Santa Eulalia.
The Barcelona és Moda prize recognizes companies and fashion professionals who through their dedication help to position Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, as a leader in the sector. The prize consists of a grant of 6,000 euros for each of the winners which can be exchanged for education and internationalization services and events with the Chamber of Commerce.
Since its inception this initiative has had the support of the Barcelona City Council, which is firmly committed to promoting a sector which has more than 38,000 businesses in Catalonia, representing 6.3% of the total.
