Tous changes board of directors

Tous, the family-run company founded in 1920 that has brought the jewellery concept to fashion, is continuing its plan for brand expansion and consolidation on strategic markets.
Tous currently operates in 45 countries with nearly 400 stores in cosmopolitan cities like New York, Paris, Moscow, Milan and Tokyo. In 2009 the growth of the brand continued with the introduction of new products and an exponential increase in sales of accessories (handbags, leather goods, watches, glasses and fragrances). However, the core business of the brand is still jewellery, which represents around 68% of total sales.
The company’s focus on international markets, which made up 39% of total group sales in 2009, has led to the appointment of two independent external directors on the board of directors: Luis del Valle, former President of L’Oréal Spain, and Andres Cárdenas, General Director of luxury yacht companies including Rodman and Bavaria Group.
These two new additions bring to Tous’ board of directors Luis del Valle’s experience in high-turnover luxury retail products and Andres Cardenas’ specialization in strategy, operations, management and internationalization.
The TOUS board now has nine directors, two of them independent. The other board members are: Alba Tous, President; Salvador Tous, Honorary President; Rosa Oriol, Vice-President and Creative Director; José Luis Manglano, CEO; Rosa Tous, Director of Institutional Relations; Marta Tous, Director of Design and Production; Laura Tous, Head of the Family Office and Nuria Garros, Legal Director of the Tous Group, Secretary, who is not a board member.
