Awards Barcelona és moda 2007
The first Mango shop opened its doors on Barcelona’s famous Passeig de Gràcia back in 1984.
The increase in the pace of new shops being opened abroad, as well as the opening of larger shops and the fine-tuning of its unique concept of integral speed-based logistics, were the key ingredients in Mango’s growth in recent years.
This growth has been complemented by major projects to promote the brand image, the latest of which was the choice to encourage emerging designers through its “El Botón” prize, which has the largest pot in the international fashion industry.
Now, the company’s future plans include the goal of having 3,000 shops all over the world. The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce has awarded the company its “Barcelona és Moda” prize in recognition of the Mango’s international outreach and expansion.
Fashion, creativity and innovation are the necessary ingredients in Míriam’s Ponsa’s creations. In a totally manual, self-taught fashion, Míriam Ponsa uses art techniques such as marbling and dripping on clothing, thus defining a way of viewing fashion as yet another art form.
Currently Barcelona’s Textile and Clothing Museum is exhibiting apparel from Míriam Ponsa’s collection, and the clothing can also be purchased in the company’s first shop that the designer opened in Barcelona’s Born district in 2006. This shop serves as a backdrop for displaying creations that Ponsa defines as independent, and that mainly attract an international audience.
For all these reasons, the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce has chosen Creasilk as the winner of the “Barcelona és Moda” prize for emerging company, an award that acknowledges Míriam Ponsa’s efforts and business plans.
At the prestigious London’s Royal College of Art, Castro worked on projects with major companies like Dolce&Gabbana, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.
After his stint in England, he landed his first projects in Barcelona, and began working for Miró Jeans in 2001. After that he moved to Desigual, the young fashion company that signed Castro on to develop bold new designs for 2004. Today the Galician designer continues working for Desigual while simultaneously promoting his own clothing line.
This project is growing day by day, and has received the recognition of the Fédération Française de la Couture, which has twice invited the designer to show his collections on the catwalks during Paris’ fashion week. The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce wanted to add yet another award to his already lengthy list with its “Barcelona és Moda” prize for best professional, thus yet again highlighting the quality of Castro’s designs.

Diamond Oscar - Natura Bissé's Spa Hollywood
Natura Bissé is a leading company in the cosmetics industry that mainly stands out for its ability to innovate. Thanks to its Diamond Cream, a product that the Fisas family calls “the jewel in the crown” and that accounts for 25% of the company’s turnover, Natura Bissé has become one of the favourite brands of many Hollywood stars.
This was true to such an extent that the company decided to offer its first exclusive treatments for Hollywood actresses on the occasion of the Oscar awards ceremony. This initiative was consolidated last February under the name of the Diamond Oscar Spa.
The Fisas family’s latest business project has received the recognition of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce through its “Barcelona és Moda” prize for business initiative. The Chamber awards this prize because of the company’s ability to innovate by creating a huge advertising campaign that interrelated its products with the luxe, glamorous world of Hollywood, as well as by involving different business sectors related to the world of fashion.
